I have worked in leadership development for over 30 years and having spent 25 of those years in the public sector I now lead my own company. I work with a small number of colleagues with very different but complementary skills and experiences.

Karen is an established and respected senior leader in healthcare and leadership development. In her roles as Managing Director of the NHS Leadership Academy and Director of Leadership at the King’s Fund she has established a deserved reputation and track record for success and is regarded as an authoritative source on leadership. Having led award winning development programmes for many years her last role in the NHS was in designing and creating the NHS Leadership Academy. A home for leadership strategy, talent management, and comprehensive leadership programmes from entry level to national leaders across all professions the Academy was also the home to the national coaching register, ministerial commissions and systems leadership. The national portfolio also included wide ranging programmes and thinking around diversity and inclusion. Under her leadership the Academy pioneered blended learning solutions for the NHS including the development of award winning virtual learning experiences.
In 2016 she left the NHS to create her own company and now has a broad portfolio of clients across public and private sector in the UK and overseas. Karen draws on her experience and skills to offer organisations, systems and senior leaders and their colleagues expert support in developing their leadership. She has the ability to understand, critically analyse, creatively address and respond to complex issues and then to skilfully manage the business process from planning to delivery. Adept at communication and people skills Karen presents as a formidable ally for change and development.
As an accomplished facilitator of both small and large groups where there are difficult issues to face Karen is skilled in offering challenge and questioning so that fundamental problems are addressed and resolved. Equally as powerful and effective Karen works well on a one-to-one basis to offer development on personal leadership issues and real work dilemmas. Her style is to be supportive, insightful and offer appropriate challenge where that is in the client’s interest.
