Karen draws on her many years of experience creating exciting leadership programmes that have a real and sustained impact on individual and organisational leadership performance. She runs both open programmes and programmes commissioned directly by clients.
Karen works with clients on their diversity and inclusion agenda helping them think critically about existing practice, the culture and climate their leadership creates and develop practical actions to take to move toward the kind of organisation they talk about being. In addition to the programmes above she runs open action learning sets – small groups of 6-8 people with the space to provide mutual support and challenge. Often incorporated into larger in-house programmes learning sets provide a way to gain new perspectives and insights from colleagues working on other organisations, as well as reflect differently on your own experience and share your wisdom.

Karen works with a wide range of Boards and senior teams either on her own or working with a small group of colleagues. As an accomplished facilitator of both small and large groups Karen offers challenge and support so that relationship issues are faced and fundamental problems are addressed and resolved. Karen is experienced in providing support to Boards and senior teams helping them to think creatively about seemingly intransigent problems, guiding them through a process of exploration, understanding and the development of practical and workable solutions.

She offers new perspectives, challenging your thinking, helping you look critically at your choices and behaviours in service of developing your effectiveness and impact.

Working on a one to one basis, with teams, boards or organisations, Karen provides a unique perspective to help challenge your thinking, review assumptions, actions and limiting beliefs, and help provide new and more effective ways of working. She can also bring her experience and expertise in strategic approaches to leadership and talent management to help support new ventures and inform strategy.

Karen also supports organisations in commissioning larger pieces of work. Over the past 10 years Karen has commissioned over £100million of leadership development. From large scale consortium led programmes to small bespoke consultancy offers, coaching and facilitation. She draws on this experience to support organisations in designing and commissioning their own development from informing the scope, selecting providers and supporting the set-up. She is working with a number of organisations to make sure this key investment is wisely made.
I had the absolute pleasure of working with Karen at the Yorkshire and Humber Nightingale. As some of you will be aware setting up the Nightingale facilities has to be achieved in an unprecedented context under intense scrutiny and at a pretty relentless pace . Karen provided the leadership for a number of the workforce priorities including creating the induction , education and training capable of supporting hundreds of staff with innovative rapid deployment. Whilst Karen’s technical expertise and skills were impressive she brought much more to the team. I really enjoyed my experience of meeting and working with Karen and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to colleagues . I hope our paths cross again.
